Blurred Borders International Dance Festival is an annual cross-cultural event created to foster the artistic and intellectual exchange of ideas of progressive international, national and local artists. This 11th edition of Blurred Borders Festival returns with a blend of potent dance theatre and creative video dance that deals strongly with border crossings — human, age, gender, and physical borders. Featuring contemporary risk-taking choreographers whose work is fresh and powerful.

The Patricia Rincon Dance Collective receives significant funding from The San Diego City Commission for Arts and Culture, The San Diego County Community Arts Grants by way of Pam Slauter, The John and Beverly Stauffer Foundation, San Diego City College Department of Visual and Performing Arts, and World Cultures Department, The City of Encinitas Community Grant (with a matching grant from the Mizel Family Foundation), the University of California Institute for Research in the Arts, UCSD Latino Studies Research Initiative, and private donors.

In October 1996 Artistic Director Patricia Rincon completed the first American tour of international choreographers here in San Diego called Kultur Mix International Dance Festival, now called Blurred Borders Dance Festival.
